Pregnancy Photo Shoot

My friend, Michelle has gotten so good at photography! I had her do a pregnancy photo shoot for me and I must say I am super happy with the results.  I went in feeling pretty huge and frumpy, but when I saw the pictures it changed my perspective of my pregnant body--I think I look pretty cute ;) .

Here are my favorites:

"Daddy, will you teach me to swim?"

On Saturday we were throwing around the idea of going to the lake and Nelli asked me, "can you teach me how to swim?" I told her that Daddy knows how to swim and used to teach kids her age. She went up to him and asked him to teach her and it made his day! We had a few errands to run and decided to take her to the lake on Monday after Taylor got home from work.

On Monday, Nelli and I had so much fun playing in the sand and eating a picnic dinner while we waited for Taylor to join us (We usually get too hungry to wait for him to eat with us...).  Then when Taylor got to the lake around 6pm Nelli told him, "Daddy, I pretend to swim but I don't know how to swim for real. Will you teach me?"  ha HA! I love this girl!

Taylor worked on getting her used to the deep water and relaxing on her back.  A chilly breeze started blowing during the lesson, so it lasted no more than ten minutes.

Oh, Nelli and Taylor were both so happy to share those moments together! Swim lesson #1 complete!

Lake Meridian with Grandma Jana

Jana took a day trip to Seattle to see her grandkids.  She decided the 5 hour drive from Spokane was worth a good day of memories and hugs -- we didn't mind a bit.  Jana, Ali, Thayne and Lydia joined us around noon at a beautiful lake near our house, Lake Meridian. We spent the whole afternoon enjoying it.  It has a great enclosed sandy beach that we could play in.  We even found a big shaded spot under a tree that the other Seattleites seemed to be avoiding (I think everyone was just so excited about the sun shining that they were soaking it all up). We had a picnic lunch, the kids played in the water and we even played a little bit of pregnant lady chase the toddlers and hide and seek. :)

We didn't bring sand toys, but some super nice kids let them play with theirs.  After seeing the hours of entertainment and joy it brought to these kids, I picked up a good supply and can't wait to use them!

Holding hands through the slippery parts.

So cute!!

When we got back to the house, I threw some dinner together while Grandma read to and played cards with the kiddos.

Then around 7:30pm Taylor and Tyler got home from a 3 hour, 30+ mile bike ride.  Tyler rode from his Amazon office in Seattle to our house. Taylor left work in Redmond and met up with him in Bellevue and they rode the rest of the trails together.  They were exhausted and sweaty, but super excited about their accomplishment in that 80 degree weather.  You go guys!!  I just love their new hobby.  I can't wait to join in on the real cycling after little sister comes.
